Refractive Eye Surgery

Refractive Eye Surgery
Laser eye correction is suitable for the majority of patients with nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism over a wide range. As one of the few in Europe, our Clinic also helps to treat refractive errors in younger patients and children in whom other corrections would fail.

The individualized NeoLASIK HD laser correction procedure is the most suitable in most patients as it is capable of correcting the smallest optical imperfections of the eye, resulting in better vision than ever experienced before with eye glasses or contact lenses. On the basis of thorough and complete preoperative examinations and a personal talk with the patient, the physician selects the best procedure, taking into account not only the results of the respective tests but, also the patient's wishes and needs concerning vision. It is always necessary to consider the patient's life style, interests and expectations.

Laser eye correction is an ideal solution in 85-90% of patients who come to our Clinic. When the patient's visual defect is found to be unsuitable for laser correction, we can offer a wide range of other reliable correction methods such as phakic intraocular contact lens implantation or refractive lens exchange (RLE).

Thanks to our holistic approach and the availability of all technologies and methods, we are able to find a suitable solution for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia in 98% of patients who come to our Clinic.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract Surgery

Cataract Surgery Operation
The cataract surgery involves the removal of the cloudy lens followed by its replacement with an artificial lens, which is deployed in place of the original lens. The eye surgery is performed under local anaesthesia using drops applied to the eye. It is completely painless and does not last more than 10-15 minutes. The opening through which the whole procedure is carried out is so small that it closes itself after the eye surgery without sutures. Cataract surgery is performed by an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) on an outpatient basis, which means you don't have to stay in the hospital after the surgery.

Our ophthalmologists and cataract surgeons have an individual approach to every patient. They know that everyone has different interests and needs, which is the key factor to select the most suitable intraocular lens for a particular patient:

LenSx Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery

Femtosecond Cataract Laser LenSx is designed to revolutionize key steps in the cataract procedure. Femtosecond cataract surgery is the most precise, predictable, reproducible and safe procedure, it ensure the best results for the best sight.

The incredibly advanced LenSx® laser is designed specifically for performing the most delicate ocular surgery. It uses a laser source to produce femtosecond laser pulses; an aiming system to localize specific targets in the eye; an optical delivery system to precisely deliver laser pulses to desired targets in the eye; and a computer controller to perform clinical procedures.

The femtosecond LenSx Lasers has already approved by The U.S. Food and Drug Administration for cataract surgery.

What Is Cataract

Cataract
Typically, cataract affects the clear lens that is located behind the iris in the eye and that enables focused vision of distant objects without glasses, as well as when watching TV or reading. The causes of cataract are not yet known. However, factors such as ultraviolet radiation and smoking may contribute to it. The lens becomes cloudy with time, which leads to blurred, misty, sometimes double vision, requiring frequent changes of glasses. Significantly impaired vision in the dark is risky particularly for drivers.
